A group of 33 students at Lucie Downer Performing Arts (LDPA) are heading to London to tread the boards at Her Majesty's Theatre next weekend to perform two musical numbers.

No stranger to the London stage, Lucie Downer had a ten-year career in the West End, performed in the original cast of Shrek the Musical, Grease the Musical and Joseph and the

Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

She said: "The children are so excited. It’s always something I dreamt of doing when I was a child. Back then, your home address had to be within a certain distance of London and mine

was just out.

"I’m so glad I can give my students a snippet of what it feels like to perform in a show in the West End."

Lucie, 31, set up LDPA in 2016 using the Castle Theatre as her base but last week moved into her new teaching complex in Saxon Court off Bradfield Close in Wellingborough.
