Wellingborough bin collectors wishing you a wheelie happy Christmas

Wellingborough Council has reminded residents that their usual bin day might be different over the festive period and to check their revised timetable.

Although brown bin garden waste collections have stopped for the winter period, black and green bins will be collected but on different days to normal - apart from New Year's Eve.

Green recycling bins will be collected as follows: bins that would have been collected on Tuesday, December 24, will be a day earlier on Monday, December 23; green bins due to be collected on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25) will now be collected on Tuesday, December 24; green bins that would have been due for collection on Thursday, December 26, will now be collected on Friday, December 27, and those green bins that would have been due for collection on Friday, December 27, will be collected on Saturday, December 28.

Black bins for household waste will be collected the following week and with each collection day being moved to the following day except those black bins due for collection on New Year's Eve (Tuesday, December 31) which remains the same.

Revised black bin collection dates are: bins due for collection on New Year's (Wednesday, January 1 2020) will now Thursday, January 2; bins usually collected on Thursday (January 2) will now be collected on Friday, January 3 and the Friday, January 3 collections will now be made on Saturday, January 4.

Brown bin collections have now stopped for the winter period. Collections will resume in March 2020.

Wellingborough Norse, which collects waste on behalf of Wellingborough council, has asked residents to park considerately on collection days to allow access for bin lorries and large emergency service vehicles.
