Two stables and a tack room have been stolen from a village near Oundle.

Thieves dismantled the wooden buildings after accessing the property in Nene Way, Polebrook.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Police officers are appealing for witnesses after the theft of two stables and tack room from a commercial property in Nene Way, Polebrook.

"The theft took place between midday on Tuesday, August 25 and 11.20am on Wednesday, August 26, when the offenders gained access to the property via neighbouring land and dismantled the stables and tack room.

"In addition to the outbuildings, the offenders have also stolen rubber matting and all the equipment and tack inside including a black and gold Rhinegold bridle and a black Kent and Masters GP saddle with a blue Finer Equine cover.

"Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone or a vehicle at the property in Nene Way, Polebrook between the stated times. Or who may have been offered such items for sale in unusual circumstances."
