Northamptonshire charity spreading cheer with a Christmas cheap seats treat

Families have been promised an early festive present with discounted tickets to a Core Theatre show.

For one day only, tickets for the production of Swiss Family Robinson this year's Christmas extravaganza will cost just £12 each thanks to a charity.

On Monday, December 23, people can apply for the bargain tickets for the 1pm and 7pm performances at a rate 25 per cent off the normal full price of £16 per person.

Gretton-based charity, The Travers Foundation will treat theatre-goers to a cheap seats at the show for ages six and above.

Swiss Family Robinson is the classic tale of survival on a desert island, with each member of the family, including their dog, using their wits, strengths, skills and ingenuity to build

themselves a new home and fit in with their new surroundings.

Performed by multi-award winning comedy theatre company New Old Friends, the show is packed with stunning shipwrecks, wonderful wild animals, glorious gags, marvellous machines,

stupendous songs and witty wordplay.

The Travers Foundation, which helps youngsters aged between 13 and 30, living in Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, with funding to help achieve their full potential in sport,

the creative and performing arts, has worked with the team at the Corby Core Theatre for a number of years funding various projects.
