Rock Up, in the atrium at the West Terrace, was closed yesterday and is likely to be closed until next Friday (January 17).

The facility has been closed so the Rushden Lakes management team can repair the building's roof.

A Rushden Lakes spokesman said: "We're very sorry about the closure. This is essential work to the roof above the climbing area. There are no problems with the equipment or operations of Rock Up.

"We're working hard to ensure the repairs are completed as quickly and as thoroughly as possible.

"We would like to apologise to anyone who is disappointed they cannot visit Rock Up during this time."

The centre opened in March last year and boasts 26 climbing walls and challenges.

A Rock Up spokesman said: "We apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience this has caused and look forward to opening soon."
