Kettering's Wicksteed Park to re-open car parks

Wicksteed Park will re-open its car parks from tomorrow (Wednesday) after the latest Government lockdown advice.

But all other attractions at the popular Kettering park off Barton Road, as well as food and drink outlets and toilets, will remain closed for now.

Government FAQs updated after Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Sunday night broadcast to the nation say people can travel to outdoor open space for exercise, irrespective of distance.

The park, which has remained open during the lockdown, has urged people visiting them to follow social distancing rules at all times.

They have also asked those walking dogs at the park to make sure their pets are on a lead.

A park spokesman added: "The current situation has placed a huge financial strain on us and, for those who wish to, there is an opportunity to support the park through its Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/wicksteedcharitabletrust.
