Students at Tresham College in Kettering have created the video for an 80s-inspired rock/pop band's new single.

Kettering-based The Touch will launch their track The Mission at the Windmill Avenue campus between 6pm and 9pm after music students there had a rare insight into the industry.

They filmed the music video on a wet Sunday during Storm Dennis and have been involved in every aspect of the launch.

Megan Knight, a member of the creative arts team at Tresham College, set up the initiative.

She said: “The Touch are a local Kettering band I had seen perform and asked if they could provide an input into our course.

"The workshops we developed have been incredibly beneficial for the students.

"They have been involved in every aspect of launching a new single including video production, graphics for music streaming apps, merchandise design and the creation of an electronic press kit."

The video features a Daimler Ferret armoured car, provided by John Underwood from Corby who takes part in Wicksteed at War events

The Touch lead singer Jamie Neale said: “The idea behind the video is a battle within the band, so the students have filmed us fighting in various forms and this is a chase scene involving a tank.

“The students have been amazing and so professional in everything they have developed.

"I hope we have been able to give them an insight into the practicalities of the industry. Performing is the easy part - there is much more work to do off-stage if you want to succeed.”

Tickets to the launch are free and will include a live performance by the band. Email [email protected] for details.
