Homophobic abuse sent to Rev Richard Coles just days after the death of his partner
The vicar of Finedon said on Tuesday that his civil partner David had died following a long illness.
There has been an outpouring of support from people in Finedon and surrounding areas and also from other well-known figures.

Hide AdHowever, today (Thursday), Mr Coles wrote: "99.99999% loveliness from people and then a small but lively correspondence from Christians who wish me to know that D is in hell and I will follow.
"It’s like the Khmer Rouge suddenly popping up in a stream of condolence."
In another tweet, Rev Richard Coles said: "A letter, courageously unsigned, begins: “Dear Mr Coles, I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to hear of the death of your partner...”
In a reply, Mr Coles added: "It continues “I have been praying for your pain for a long time now...”

Hide AdMany people are writing in support of Mr Coles, with former doctor and writer Adam Kay replying: "How disgusting, Richard. I'm so sorry you have this to contend with on top of your grief. People are so disappointing."
Another Twitter user replied: "Love is Love and I'm sorry there are still people who lack humanity and compassion no matter their faith xxx."
