Help is needed for a fundraiser in memory of a Wellingborough man who struggled with his mental health.

Eugene Parbery, 36, battled with his mental health for several years and his family was heartbroken when it became too much for him on Christmas Eve.

There was huge support for the family after Eugene's death, including a fundraising page set up by Eugene's father Ian Talbot to help with the cost of the funeral raising nearly £3,000.

Eugene's cousin Tom Deacon is now organising a charity event on May 24 from midday onwards.

After having to overcome some early obstacles including the original venue being double-booked, the event will now be held at Tower Fields (The Kennedy's) in Irthlingborough Road, Finedon.

Tom has organised the main stage and marquees for the acts, but says they are still looking for help so they can raise as much money as possible for Mind in memory of Eugene.

Tom said: "We really need some businesses to sponsor us, we have a main stage and marquees for the acts.

"We just need a bit of money behind us to promote it and get things booked in.

"People have already been amazing with helping me to get to this stage."

There will be live music, beer tent, cocktail bar, food vendors, DJs, bouncy castle and local traders with money raised on the day going to the Kettering and Wellingborough branches of Mind.
