Driver seriously injured as BMW and two trucks crash on A45 near Wellingborough

A driver was rushed to hospital in Coventry with serious injuries after a horror crash on the A45 in Northamptonshire on Monday.

The man in his 20s was driving a white BMW 3 series when it was in collision with a Mercedes goods vehicle and a blue Scania lorry near Chester Farm, between Wellingborough and Rushden just before 2pm.

He was taken to the major trauma centre in Coventry.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The BMW driver was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries although we do not believe these are life-threatening or life-changing.

"Our investigations into the incident are still ongoing and we would ask any drivers in the area who may have dashcam footage that could help us to get in touch by calling 101."
