Some firms at the leisure terrace at Rushden Lakes - including the flagship cinema - will re-open tomorrow (Tuesday).

The building at the far end of the retail park has been closed since it was evacuated during Storm Ciara on February 9 when cladding was pulled loose in gale-force winds.

It left businesses frustrated at being closed during half-term with health and safety bosses looking into a temporary fix to allow the building and 15 attractions to open.

Now a few have announced they will finally re-open tomorrow.

A Cineworld spokesman said: "We are delighted to inform you all that we will be re-opening our doors to customers from 2pm on Tuesday, March 3.

"We look forward to welcoming you all back very soon."

A 360 Play spokesman said: "Following the recent leisure complex closure, 360 Play Rushden Lakes will be reopening tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3, at 9.30am and the team can't wait to welcome you along!

"With a wide range of activities from unlimited rides, soft play, slides, ball zones, role play, messy play and more, there’s something that every active child will enjoy at 360.

"The 360 Play team would like to thank all our 360 members and customers for your patience and understanding during this time. The parent and toddler fayre planned for tomorrow has been postponed for the time being."

And a Paradise Island Adventure Golf spokesman said: "After a thorough investigation was carried out on the leisure building and surrounding area, we have received confirmation from Rushden Lakes that we will be re-opening to the public on Tuesday, March 3.

"We'd like to thank you all for your patience and understanding during our closure and we hope to see you all soon."

A Rushden Lakes spokesman said: “The leisure terrace and adjoining restaurants at Rushden Lakes are due to reopen from Tuesday, March 3 following on from recent storm damage.

"Please be aware that not all businesses will open immediately as a number of our operators will need to undertake further works within their respective units before these can return to normal trading. We would therefore recommend checking individual operator websites prior to your visit.

"We would like to thank visitors and businesses for their patience and understanding, and apologise for any disruption caused during the closure.”
