Christmas carol service at Rushden Lakes tomorrow

A Christmas carol service put on by AFC Rushden & Diamonds will take place at Rushden Lakes tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Diamonds are putting on the service, backed and supported by the Reverend Rachel Hawkins and St Peter’s Parish Church in Rushden, from 7.30pm. The event is free to attend and will take place on the boardwalk or near the Cineworld entrance if the weather is bad.

Accompanying music will be provided by the aptly named Paul Needle’s Diamond Jazz Quartet.

Reverend Rachel Hawkins is very much looking forward to the event. She said: “St Peter's Parish Church are privileged to be working with AFC Rushden & Diamonds and the Lakes to provide this opportunity and warm welcome for everyone to come and celebrate the real reason for this wonderful season of Christmas.”

Finedon vicar the Rev Richard Coles was due to attend the service but this morning he announced the death of his partner, Rev David Coles.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds said their thoughts and prayers will be with him, his family and friends at the service.
