Cancer charity appeals for help to host Kettering volunteer recruitment drive

A charity manager has appealed for the public's help to find a venue to host a volunteer recruitment drive in Kettering.

Macmillan relies almost entirely on donations and cannot be there for the 24,000 people living with and beyond cancer in Northamptonshire without the public's support.

After a successful recent event in Daventry which saw 16 volunteers join up Macmillan's regional fundraising manager for Northamptonshire, Sally Redmond, now wants to host a recruitment drive in Kettering.

She is appealing for help to find an indoor venue to host it at some point "within the next couple of months", such as a leisure centre, gym or garden centre.

The donations that Macmillan receive help fund services in the area, such as the new Macmillan Information Centre which is currently planned at Kettering General Hospital.

Sally is also looking to set up fundraising groups in the area and a Kettering committee to help with this, and has had a couple of people come forward with offers after an appeal last month.Anyone who can help with a venue or who is interested in joining a committee should call Sally on 07860 950923 or email [email protected].
