An elderly man was airlifted to hospital after breaking his arm.

The 86-year-old man tripped over a tree stump while out walking in Oundle on Monday afternoon (June 9).

After assessing the patient, ambulance crews decided he needed a rapid transfer to the nearest major trauma centre and the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called out. They landed at about 12.30pm, and the patient was given advanced pain relief before being airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further treatment.
