Police in Northampton are appealing for help in identifying a woman who robbed an 87-year-old lady.
The victim was at home in Lutterworth Road, Abington, at about 10pm on Monday, December 1, when the incident took place.
She heard someone at her front door and when she went to investigate a woman forced her way into the house, pushing past the victim.
The offender then stole the victim’s handbag and ran off.
The victim was left shaken and with bruising to her arm.
The offender was white, wearing a beige coat with a fur lined hood which was up. She also had a mask covering her mouth.
PC Richard Bailey said: “I am appealing for help from the public two weeks after this crime in which a vulnerable, elderly lady was injured in her own home trying to fend off a thief.
“We urgently need to find the woman responsible for this incident – someone must know who she is and I am hoping someone will come forward with the information we need.
“I would also ask that anyone who was in Lutterworth Road around 10pm on Monday, December 1, makes contact with me as any detail, no matter how small, may prove crucial to the investigation.”
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
