Bad weather could not stop the residents of Ringstead celebrating the opening of new play equipment installed in Ringstead Peace Park.
Raising the funds for the equipment has been a three-year project by Ringstead Community Group, who have held summer fetes, a fun run and various other events.
In May 2014 the project was given £50,000 of grant funding by Wren, followed by £27,000 from East Northamptonshire Council which meant the project could finally happen.
The revamped Peace Park was opened by Emily Daley, who was the runner-up in a competition to design a Keep Our Park Tidy poster, and the winner, Maisie.
Local councillors Gillian Mercer and Sylvia Hughes, who donated £500 towards the project from their empowering councillors and communities scheme, were also present.
Ringstead Community Group said it would like to thank everyone who has supported their fundraising events, as well as Wren and East Northamptonshire Council.
