Leader of Northamptonshire County Council, Cllr Jim Harker, will collect his OBE from Buckingham Palace tomorrow (Tuesday).
Cllr Harker was included in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to civic society and the economy.
Mr Harker has been a county councillor for 32 years for the Kettering Rural division and leader of the council since 2005.
Cllr Harker said: “I’m tremendously proud to have been included on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list – it really is a great honour.
“However, there are very few achievements which are made in isolation and I’d like to thank all of the people I have worked with over the years.
“I’m looking forward to continuing all the good work we’ve been doing and making Northamptonshire a more prosperous county for all.”
