The Beeswing in Kettering is celebrating after being named the Northants Telegraph Pub of the Year.
The family-run pub in Rockingham Road beat off stiff competition from The Little Ale House in Wellingborough and The Hatton Arms in Gretton to bag first prize.
Manager Alex Hudson-Jones, who works at the pub with her parents and two sisters, says their refurbishment has made a big difference in making the pub feel more welcoming.
She said: “It’s really exciting that we’ve won and we’re in complete shock to be honest.
“We didn’t even know we’d been nominated until we were told we had made the top 10.
“Business has been really good over the past year and I think a lot of that has been down to the refurb.
“We make anyone welcome, whether it’s a 70-year-old who wants to come for a little dance or an 18-year-old coming to a pub for the first time.”
The family took over at the pub three years ago.
They have an extensive menu and also run a traditional Sunday carvery which is very popular.
Miss Hudson-Jones added: “We’ve got a play area which makes it quite attractive for families with children.
“We try and do a good variety of home-made, proper pub grub which goes down well.
“It’s real comfort food and customers like that.
“We must say thanks to everyone who has voted for us and especially to all of our regulars who make the pub what it is.”
