Men in the Kettering area are being encouraged to join a new male voice choir in the town.

Being set up by Joshua Daniel, director of Joshua’s Music, the choir will run every Thursday evening from February.

It aims to hark back to the days of a previous male voice choir in Kettering, which was popular in the 1940s.

Joshua said: “We really need as many males to sign up to get this male voice choir off the ground.

“Everyone will be starting anew, so please do come along if it’s something you are thinking about as you read – what have you got to lose?

“I am so looking forward to adding the male voice choir to the mix, and getting the males of the town back at the forefront of the town’s choirs.”

Meanwhile, more than 250 people attended a festive concert at the Church of Ss Peter and Paul in Kettering which featured two more of Joshua’s choirs, The Sine Nomine Choir and Kettering Youth Choir as well as soloists Margaret Walker, Amelia Morgan and Katie Parker.

Joshua said: “I am so pleased and very proud of how well the current choirs are performing and adapting week by week.”

He has thanked some of those involved with the concert, including the church, Troye Doliveira, Ivan Linford and Hannah Hall.
