People are being asked for their views and ideas for the future of The Castle theatre in Wellingborough.
It comes after Wellingborough Council gave notice to terminate the contract held by The Castle Wellingborough Ltd which runs the theatre on behalf of the authority.
A statement released by Wellingborough Council today has said that a meeting will be held in June to discuss the options but ahead of this, they want to hear from anyone who has a view or idea about running the theatre in the future.
It said: “After the decision made by councillors on 22 March to terminate the contract with The Castle Wellingborough Ltd, and put in place an exit management plan until the end of September, their focus has now turned to the future.
“Councillors are reassured that local people are interested in saving the venue and comments/suggestions are arriving daily.
“A meeting of the resources committee will be held on June 29 to discuss options for the theatre, but before then the council will be asking local people their views and taking the advice of industry experts.
“If you would like to tell the council how you see arts and entertainment provision in the borough in the future please email us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
“All views received will be taken into account.”
