Opticians saddle up for 180 mile cycle challenge

A quartet of colleagues from opticians in Kettering and Corby have raised more than £2,500 for Guide Dogs UK as they prepare to take on a 180-mile cycling challenge later this month.

Mark Turner and David Claffey, store directors at Specsavers in Kettering and Corby, along with colleagues Kiran Parmar-Hill and Henry Scott will take to their saddles on Monday, May 22.

The team will visit 17 Specsavers stores across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire in two days with the aim of raising £5,000.

Mark said: “Last year we decided to support Guide Dogs UK and set ourselves a £5,000 fundraising target.

“We’re now only a few weeks away from our cycling challenge and have raised almost half our total, which is fantastic.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already donated and would like to encourage all of our customers to show their support for this brilliant charity.”

Anyone wishing to contribute can visit the team’s fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/specsaversketteringguidedogs or donate in store.
