Made in Corby is delighted that it has commissioned award-winning theatre company Frantic Assembly to develop a brand new work for our 2015 Big Night Out.
And if you didn’t know, Frantic Assembly co-founder and artistic director Scott Graham and his fellow co-director Neill Bettles both grew up in Corby.
Both are excited to be coming back to their home town to work with our community of professional and local amateur performers on the creation of this show.
To be performed at The Core at Corby Cube at the beginning of July next year, we’re sure that, like our Royal Philharmonic Orchestra event, it’s bound to be a summer sell-out.
Scott told us that he believes passionately in a theatre that tells the stories of real people, by real people and sees this Made in Corby commission as a tremendous opportunity to celebrate the creativity, passion and humour of the town he and Neill grew up in.
In January, a panel of people drawn from our Big Ideas teams, and involving people from across Corby’s communities, will be going to see a Frantic Assembly production and start getting involved in the ongoing development of the new work.
If you’d like to get involved, email us at madein firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’m also excited to announce that we’ve now appointed two new staff who will be a dedicated Made in Corby programme team.
They will take up their posts early in the New Year.
We’re also promoting arts activities and events in Corby and further afield that you might like to try.
Have a very merry Christmas all.
