A warm welcome to this month’s column.

I’m delighted to be letting you know about what’s coming up in May – taster workshops and an exciting preview event for our new Corby musical!

No Way Back is a Made in Corby commission that brings award-winning theatre company Frantic Assembly’s co-founder and artistic director Scott Graham and associate director Neil Bettles back to their home town.

They’re creating dynamic theatre being performed in July at The Core with local performers from Corby’s community. Tickets are on sale now from The Core at Corby Cube.

We’re offering you a chance to try out their unique approach and get involved with something new.

Come and try our open taster workshops with Frantic Assembly at The Core at Corby Cube from 1pm, 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Thursday, May 7; at Pen Green Research Centre at 10am on Friday, May 8, and at Oakley Vale Community Centre at 7pm. On Saturday, May 9, workshops are at Gretton Village Hall at 11.15am; at Corby Football Ground at 2pm and at Corby Old Village Community Centre at 4.30pm.

Each workshop lasts an hour and a half and is open to anyone from 16 to 80.

All you need is the enthusiasm to get involved.

There’s another chance to get involved at a practical group workshop on May 30 at The Core at Corby Cube.

As places are limited, you will need to sign up, by emailing

Saturday, May 9, is a date you mustn’t miss either!

This afternoon event previews ideas in development for our original 2016 Corby musical being developed in association with Perfect Pitch and Corby Amateur Theatrical Society.

Come along, help us decide which of the ideas gets to be staged in October 2016.

All tickets are £5 and available from The Core at Corby Cube Ticket Office.
