It is hard to believe it is October.

Although I love this time of year, it is sad to think that the days are getting shorter, the nights longer and the weather cooler; the odd days that we had as our summer, behind us once more.

We must look forward.

The summer for us as a charity was not particularly fruitful due to so many events being postponed or cancelled because of poor weather, so now we are looking forward to a very busy winter season indoors, beginning with our badge sales in all of the shopping centres and other venues around the county.

Every year we invite school children to design a new crazy hat badge and this year we have proudly gone down the royal route to coincide with the past year being full of national celebrations.

Also on our list is our annual Dinner and Dance – “A Right Royal Knees Up!” at the Park Hotel in Kettering on Saturday, November 24, where we will be drawing the tickets for our bi-annual Grand Raffle.

We thank everyone who has organised events for us but there is still time to think about doing something crazy this month to raise funds; October nationally being recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We have many breast cancer-related projects to fund at both KGH and NGH over the coming months so if you can help us or would like to know more of the work we do we would love to hear from you.
