Diary of a Corona Kid: What's wrong with Christmas in April?

You know things are bad when you’re watching a Christmas film in mid-April.

Last week I decided to watch my favourite Christmas movie and probably joint favourite normal film of all time (so far, anyway).

No, it’s not ‘Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger’, it’s ‘Last Christmas’.

It makes me laugh and cry and sing (which makes others cry), and I love it.

The reason I decided to watch ‘Last Christmas’ is that it’s like a festive hug, which is what we all need at the moment.

I’d thoroughly recommend that you watch it if you haven’t already, and make sure that you source some tissues first.

I also enjoyed the BBC’s Big Night In, with the Vicar of Dibley and Catherine Tate reprising the role of Lauren, which I was very bovvered about... look at my face mask, you can tell.

On a more productive note, I decided to sort through some old clothes and discovered some real treats.

Who knew that they made socks to mark the release of High School Musical 3?

Moreover, I discovered that old novelty T-shirts I bought at the age of 10 still fit me. I’m taking that as a good thing, despite the fact that I bought them big in 2013.

At least that’s the lockdown wardrobe sorted.

You can picture it now... me in a Bart Simpson shirt and High School Musical socks, watching ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.

No, the irony is not lost on me. After all, that is my joint favourite film.

As an aside, next time you take your daily exercise during lockdown, notice how many business calls are taking place whilst people walk their dogs.

The volume tends to be at such a level that I wonder if they aren’t just bragging.

When I take a wander, I might shout into my phone that I need Jasper to check on my stocks once Tokyo opens as the Dow Jones is low (or something).

Cheerio!
