Lockdown focus... Diary of a Corona Kid

How are you doing? It’s weird to think that not long ago that would sometimes have been just a throwaway comment.

Now it’s genuine. I hope you are alright and are not going mad.

The world seems to have lost its sense of order and control, which is pretty scary.

Everybody is vulnerable in some way and everything is now unprecedented.

This is, of course, concerning for everyone, but what I struggle with most

is the element of not knowing.

We don’t know what this virus can do, whether it can be cured, or how long this lockdown might last.

I like to be organised, and I get stressed if things descend into chaos.

I tend to worry and over-analyse a tad too much.

A while ago, such issues could be solved by doing a few practice questions or finding a new job to do at school, but not now.

GCSEs were something that I used to have as an all-encompassing focus point.

That’s why I’d ask for extra work and try to complete every extension task ever created.

It’s also why I am some sort of hybrid between Monica Geller and Hermione Granger.

As I write that, I appreciate that I can be slightly annoying too, so sorry about that.

Now this focus point has been cancelled, so I am trying to keep occupied by looking at my A-level courses and planning what I might do when we are released.

I am also thankful for the new series of Friday Night Dinner on TV.

I also worry that even when this is over, the economic impacts will last for a long time and affect our future greatly.

I am not wishing to bum you all out, because good things happen too.

The NHS is amazing, and people in general are pretty good too.

So we will be fine in the end.

In the meantime, thank you for reading this.

I really do appreciate it and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Miss you, Corona Kids.
