People are invited to take a look around a new marina at a series of open days taking place this summer.
Work has started on White Mills marina, a 141-berth purpose-built marina on the River Nene in Earls Barton.
We are really looking forward to giving people the opportunity to have a preview of White Mills before we open in the AutumnDebbie Skinner
It is due to open later this year, but four open weekends are being held so people can have a look around the site before the county’s newest marina is completed.
The first open days are taking place this weekend from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9.
Open days are also being held from 10am 4pm on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, as well as on September 5 and 6 and September 19 and 20.
White Mills will also be exhibiting at the Northampton Festival of Water which is taking place over the August Bank holiday weekend from Saturday, August 29 to Monday, August 31.
Debbie Skinner from White Mills said: “We are really looking forward to giving people the opportunity to have a preview of White Mills before we open in the Autumn.
“One of the main advantages of White Mills is its location; it has excellent road links making it very accessible for people who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of their everyday lives to the peace and tranquillity of the River Nene without having to travel far.”
The marina, which is located at Lock 9 on the River Nene, is being developed by Land and Water and is due to open in the middle or end of October.
