The county’s police force have asked Olympic Torch Relay onlookers to plan ahead for the big day next month.
The iconic flame will visit the county from the morning and pass through Northampton, Wellingborough, Isham, Kettering, Geddington, Corby, and Dingley on Monday, July 2.
Northamptonshire Police have asked people to plan ahead and park considerately, as well as warning people not to approach the torchbearers on the day as they carry the flame.
As the torch travels through county towns, road closures will be in force and parking restrictions will be in place along the route.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “Please do not try to approach the torchbearers as they make their way around Northamptonshire, however good your intentions are.
“The torchbearer runs with a special security team from the Metropolitan Police Service.
“This team creates a bubble around the torchbearer and no-one should try and enter into that bubble while the convoy is on the move. This is for their own safety as much as the torchbearer as the relay is a moving convoy of vehicles.
“Structures have been put in place for national coordination and command at the regional and local level.
“This will ensure forces can manage the complexity of the Olympic Torch Relay as it crosses boundaries and borders.”
Details on road closures and parking arrangements will be available from district councils,
