Youngsters who like swimming can now also watch a film at a discounted price.

Corby Council and The Core theatre have teamed up to offer a special promotion that’s bound to be a hit with the little ones this summer.

Youngsters who swim at the Corby East Midlands International Pool can then watch the latest film at The Core theatre when they return to dry land for just £3.50.

All they need to do is hold onto their receipt from the swimming pool and show it at the ticket office to watch one of the following films. Ice Age Continental Drift, which is showing on Saturday, August 10, at 10.30am and 2.30pm; All Stars on Tuesday, August 13, at 11am and 2.30pm; Epic, which is showing on Thursday, August 15, at 2.30pm, and Saturday, August 17, at 10.30am and 2.30pm, and Despicable Me 2, which is showing on Saturday, August 24, at 10.30am and 2.30pm, and on Monday, August 26, 11am.

Corby Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “Corby Borough Council is always looking for new ways to keep youngsters entertained during their time away from the classroom. This is just another great activity to add to the list that is bound to keep children’s boredom at bay during the summer holidays. Thank you to The Core theatre for working with us in offering new and exciting programmes and hopefully we will see a queue of eager young people waiting to take full advantage.”
