Nursery praised

A nursery school has been judged as outstanding by the Government’s education watchdog Ofsted.

Inspectors visited Croyland Children’s Centre and Nursery School in Wellingborough in January before publishing a report on their findings this month.

The nursery was given the same rating after its last inspections, and this time Ofsted praised the rapid development of children and the level of teaching provided.

Headteacher Chris Whelan said: “No judgement such as this can be achieved without the hard work and dedication of the whole team.

“We are particularly proud to have retained the judgement of outstanding under the new Ofsted inspection framework only introduced in January.”

An excerpt from the report by Ofsted reads: “There is a very strong sense of family and community at the school.”
