Young volunteers have helped Northamptonshire Police tackle speeding motorists.
Over the weekend, members of the force’s police cadets scheme carried out speeding operations in Upper Benefield, Oundle, Fotheringhay and Collyweston.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “The operation was carried out as part of the force’s Futures Programme, a project designed to put communities at the heart of policing.
“Over the two days, the cadets caught more than 20 motorists driving over the speed limit.”
The drivers will all now be sent letters warning them about the consequences of speeding.
It is hoped that more cadets will carry out similar speeding operations in the future.
Volunteer police cadets were introduced to Northamptonshire Police in 2011.
The cadets, who are all aged 16 to 19, meet one night a week to learn about the police service and develop practical skills.
They also work with officers, helping at events and offering crime prevention advice.
