Northampton ​man ​​in court after scaling the Houses of Parliament​ ‘by magic’

A 23-year-old man from Northampton will appear in court today charged with trespassing on the roof of the Houses of Parliament.

Braydon Liam Anderson, of Portland Place, Northampton, will appear in custody before Westminster magistrates.

He has also been charged with criminal damage.

Emergency services were called to the Palace of Westminster on Saturday night after tourists spotted a man on the roof of the building.

Police negotiators, fire crews and ambulance services attended.

Earlier in the day, climate change campaigners protested outside Parliament and a number of people were arrested.

It is not clear whether the two incidents were related.
