A company which started off as a one-man band nine years ago now employs 20 staff and has moved premises to continue expanding.
Little Treasures Caring Cleaning firm was launched by its director Christine Roberts and has recently moved to Corby Enterprise Centre at Priors Hall, in the town, after outgrowing its original home-based office.
Despite the many challenges that face small businesses in the current financial climate, Little Treasures has continued to grow, abiding by its motto Any Task, Just Ask.
As well as providing domestic and light commercial cleaning, it offers a supported care programme and gardening and handyman services.
Mrs Roberts said: “This weekend we’ll be looking after 500 guests at Uppingham School, and I’ve decorated clients’ Christmas trees, provided Father Christmases and even cleared up a football pitch after a fireworks display.”
All staff, who work within a 20-mile radius of Corby, are given the opportunity to undertake NVQ qualifications during company time. In 2009, the firm was the regional winner and national runner-up of the JobCentre Plus Commitment to Diversity Award in recognition of its efforts to help many local people back to work.
