No speeding offences recorded on quiet Geddington road

After carrying out roadside checks on a quiet road, the top speed police recorded a motorist doing was 27 mph.

Officers from Kettering’s Safer Community Team conducted a speed check in West Street, in Geddington on Monday, as part of a week of action.

A police spokesman said: “The road was very quiet and 35 vehicles were checked with no offences recorded.

“The top speed was a motorcyclist doing 27mph.”

Bonfire Night and Halloween was the subject of talks to schoolchildren in Mawsley, Geddington and at Park Infants.

As part of the week of action, a school parking patrol has been carried out at Hawthorn School, a truancy patrol went ahead at Montsaye School in Rothwell and an officer conducted a shoplifting patrol in Kettering town centre.

The week of action continues until Friday with several initiatives in the borough.
