Northants Police have said they have no plans to reintroduce speed cameras despite featuring in an article on the subject.
A story published by the Daily Telegraph today (Thursday) revealed that the county force was one of four which had responded to a survey about the use of digital speed cameras and had answered yes to a question asking if there would be a rise in the number of prosecutions.
However, a police spokesman has confirmed that this information was incorrect.
The spokesman said there were no plans to reintroduce speed cameras in the county and they were not currently looking at using digital speed cameras.
A tweet from an officer at Northants Police, Elliot Foskett (@StaffOfficer1) this morning also said: “There have been no local discussions in relation to introduction of fixed site digital speed cameras in Northants.”
