Nine seats up for grabs in Oundle election

Nominations are being sought to fill nine vacancies on Oundle Town Council.

East Northamptonshire Council has published a notice of election for the town council following the resignation of more than half of the council’s members last month.

Anyone wishing to apply can get a nomination form from Oundle Town Council’s clerk or East Northants Council.

Nomination papers must be sent to the district authority’s returning officer no later than 4pm on Thursday, April 7.

If any election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, May 5.

East Northants Council is also reminding people to make sure they are registered to vote in both the Oundle election and May’s police and crime commissioner poll.

People have until April 18 to register to vote.

This can be done online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

You can also register now for the EU Referendum on Thursday, June 23.

If you are already on the electoral register, you do not need to re-register.

If you would prefer to vote by post than in person at a polling station, complete ENC’s online form by April 19.
