Homeless people living in Kettering are set to benefit from a new service which will help them turn their lives around.
Housing charity Home Group and Kettering Council are working together to open up a new service which will help those who are homeless or are at risk.
Home Group is the UK’s largest provider of accommodation-based care and support, helping those in need to gain employment or training as well as providing housing.
Kettering Council leader Cllr Russell Roberts said: “This exciting project will bring to Kettering much-needed accommodation for homeless people and provide a springboard to a better life through its tenancy support service.”
The service is set to operate from St Jude’s Court and is expected to open sometime this April, housing up to 21 people at one time.
Sally Parsons, Home Group client services director, said: “It’s not right that there are people in Kettering who are homeless. This new service will go a long way to helping tackle the issue of people rough sleeping because they have nowhere else to go.”
