New landlord reveals plans to revive iconic village pub in Pitsford

Stuart Jones recently took over as the new landlord of The Griffin Inn in Pitsford and has said he wants to ‘continue the great name’ that the pub has always held.

His plans for the pub in High Street include relaunching the restaurant, offering more local ales from the taps and investing in a wine preservation system so they can extend the amount of wines they offer by the glass.

Stuart said he has been a wine lover for more than 20 years and as a passion of his, he wants to share this with his customers.

A letter from the new landlord introducing himself was published on the Pitsford Village community website last month, which included details of his plans to re-launch the restaurant, and also said: “We aim to bring local produce prepared in-house by our team of chefs to the table.

“From trout from the reservoir, home-smoked through our smokers, to locally supplied game.

“The local villages that surround Pitsford offer a wealth of small businesses which excel in the delivery of good produce, Brixworth Pate, Souls Of Spratton, Troops Veg to name just a few.”

And he added: “I have a passionate and friendly team waiting to build an environment I hope you will all enjoy, every one of them are part of my extended family and individually very proud to work alongside.

“I look forward to meeting you all in good time at the pub, whether that be on a Sunday evening at the quiz, in the restaurant in the evening or for a light lunch as the restaurant and pub opening hours extend as we settle in.”

Describing himself as manager, chef and wash-up, Stuart added: “The revival of this iconic village pub is so important to us and the village.”
