New jobs target in new economic plan

Corby Council wants to help create 9,600 new jobs in the borough and reduce unemployment to three per cent over the next 15 years, according to targets in the authority’s draft economic development strategy.

The draft document was approved at a meeting last week and aims to guide economic development in Corby

A spokesman for the council said: “The document focuses on creating a prosperous and diverse economy in Corby by attracting high quality investment, encouraging the start of new small businesses and assisting existing businesses to survive or expand.”
