Music expert and author Paul Balmer will be holding a question and answer and book-signing session at Corby library on Friday, May 31.
Paul, the author of the Haynes manuals for guitars, basses and drums, will be talking about his books, including his Haynes Drum-Kit Manual, Build Your Own Electric Guitar, written with legendary Queen guitarist Brian May, and his latest book, the Gibson SG Manual, which was released this month with a foreword by rock legend Tony Iommi.
There will be time for plenty of questions, with musicians able to get tips and set-up advice, and people who take instruments along can even put them to the test with a guitar MOT.
A guitarist and teacher for 50 years, Paul, who lives in Corby, has worked extensively for the BBC as a sound engineer, producer and director, and has won international awards including a BAFTA nomination.
He has published Haynes Manuals for a range of classic guitar models, to rave reviews from guitar magazines.
The event, which is free and for all ages, will run from 6.30pm.
