MP calls for more women engineers

AN MP has called for more action to increase the number of women engineers, architects, town planners, surveyors and information and communication technology professionals.

Kettering MP Philip Hollobone, made the call in a House of Commons debate on the economy last Thursday.

Home Secretary Theresa May said the Government was changing careers advice, especially for young people, to ensure women are aware of the opportunities available.

She said that women will not feel they are being pushed down traditional, stereotyped routes.
