A high profile Conservative MP visited Rushden for the latest Wellingborough Conservative Women’s Committee lunch.
David Davis MP for Haltemprice and Howden was once in the running for the leadership of the Conservative party and for five years was shadow home secretary. He gave a talk to nearly 100 people at the lunch at Pizzeria Venezia last week.
Rushden and Wellingborough MP Peter Bone said: “As part of our Listening to Wellingborough and Rushden campaign we bring senior Conservatives to meet local people. The event was a big success.”
Committee chairman Jenny Bone added: “There were lots of questions about the economy, gay marriage, Europe and Afghanistan and he gave detailed, honest answers.”
North East Somerset MP Jacob Rees-Mogg will visit in October.
