A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a high-speed crash in Rockingham.

He sustained head injuries when he came off his bike at speed on Sunday morning.

Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called to provide care before the patient was taken to the nearest major trauma centre.

The patient was anaesthetised at the scene by the WNAA doctor before being immobilised and airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said the patient’s current condition was unknown.
