PLACES for more than 200 extra students will be made available on new courses which will start at the beginning of the new academic year at Wellingborough’s Tresham College campus.
From September the college will introduce courses in hairdressing, nail services, plastering, painting and decorating, essential skills and higher level art and design courses. The college already runs courses in engineering, motor vehicles, health and child care, access to higher education, plumbing, computing and Tresham youth training at the Wellingborough campus.
The campus will be refurbished over the summer to provide specific hair salons and nail bars, as well as specialist bays for painting and decorating and plastering.
Stuart Wesselby, principal at Tresham, said: “We are very excited to be broadening the courses on offer at our Wellingborough campus and expanding the number of opportunities available for young people and adults in and around the town.
“Since joining the college in January I remained committed to ensuring that Tresham provides an option of quality further education for all in north Northamptonshire and this latest development for Wellingborough provides a choice of vocational training to ensure that people can gain employment or progress to higher education.”
The new courses will be available for full-time students, part-time students and apprenticeships.
Applications can be submitted now for courses starting in September.
