Cllr John Bailey

The funeral of Cllr John Bailey MBE took place in Finedon on Monday following his death after a short battle with cancer on July 11.

Members of Wellingborough Council met yesterday (Tuesday) for their first full council meeting since his death and the meeting at Swanspool House started with everyone in the council chamber being asked to stand for a minute’s silence in honour of Cllr Bailey.

A card in Cllr Bailey’s memory was placed on the front bench where the councillor, who had 49 years of continuous service, used to sit.
