An adult mental health charity with bases in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough has launched a new project after a funding boost of almost £100,000.
The Teamwork Trust, which provides services for adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities, has been awarded £97,750 from the Cabinet Office’s Local Sustainability Fund as part of a £130,000 project.
The Sustainability Project will allow Teamwork to develop opportunities for funding and volunteer support and create two new posts at the charity.
Strategic director John Bruce is pleased to announce the start of the project.
He said: “In the past three years Teamwork Trust has undergone a service re-design led by service users and we have in place new programmes with social care themes, promoting community opportunities.
“We are so proud that this has been recognised by the Cabinet Office and Big Lottery, and that they have been prepared to invest in building the future sustainability of the organisation with the assistance of the private sector.”
The project involves building partnerships between the private and voluntary sector, to develop best practice to support Teamwork in working towards sustainability.
The organisations involved are Chamber of Commerce, RCI, Moore Stephens and Northamptonshire Community Foundation.
Shirley Marshall is HR business partner of RCI Europe, providers of the world’s largest holiday exchange programme with headquarters in Kettering.

Adrian Urquhart, managing partner of Moore Stephens in Corby, expressed his delight at being involved in the Sustainability Project.
He said: “Teamwork Trust do such a tremendous job for vulnerable adults in the local area and as a local firm ourselves, Moore Stephens are proud to be working with such a dedicated and inspirational team.”
The funding will create two new posts - a business development and funding officer, to develop business partnerships, and a marketing officer to ensure Teamwork Trust can be effectively promoted within the local community.
It is a one-year project to enable Teamwork to be well positioned for the future.
