A meeting is being held to give parents more information about a new Corby school where a colony of rare newts has delayed its opening.
Corby Primary Academy, in Butland Road, was to have opened its doors to pupils in September 2013.
Children who were to have attended the school will now begin their education at the former junior block at Exeter Primary School, in the town, and the intake will be reduced.
The meeting for parents is being held on Thursday, November 27, at 7pm, at Oakley Vale Primary School in Cheltenham Road.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire County Council said: “The meeting is to clarify the admissions arrangements and criteria for the new school, as well as confirming the temporary accommodation arrangements that have been put in place as a result of delays to construction because of the presence of great crested newts on site.”
The providers of the new school, Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, will be attending the meeting along with representatives from the county council.
Corby Primary Academy will open with four classes with 60 places in reception, 30 places in Year 1 and 30 places in Year 2.
