March '˜wetter and colder' than average, according to latest weather report
March was wetter and colder than usual, according to Pitsford Weather Centre's latest report.
The month saw heavy rainfall on isolated days at the start - with schools and roads closed due to flash flooding - and towards the end as Storm Katie hit the nation.
There were 71.8mm of rain across the month with 27.5mm falling on March 8, 57.5 per cent more than the monthly average.
March was also 1.7 degrees centigrade colder than the monthly average, peaking at 13.9 degrees centigrade on March 1 with a low of -2 on March 8.
