Police have issued an artist’s impression of a man they want to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery.

The appeal comes after a woman had just got out of her car in the Tesco car park in Whitworth Way, when she was approached by two men wearing dark clothes and balaclavas, who tried to grab her car keys.

When she didn’t hand over the keys, one of the men threatened her with what appeared to be a gun.

At this point, the woman screamed and ran towards Tesco and the two men ran off in the direction of the nearby Pizza Hut restaurant in London Road.

The incident took place at about 7pm on Friday, February 14.

The main offender was about 5ft 10in with broad shoulders and a gruff sounding voice. He wore a dark coloured coat.

The second man wore a silver or grey jacket.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has any information about it, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
