A man suffered multiple fractures and a head injury after a crash on the A43 near Kettering.

Emergency services were called to the incident involving two cars just before 7.15am yesterday (Sunday).

Magpas doctor Dave Leverton and paramedic Simon Standen arrived at the scene in their rapid response car and assessed the man in his 30s.

He had sustained multiple fractures and a head injury.

The man was sedated and anaesthetised at the scene before the team accompanied him by land ambulance to University Hospital Coventry.

The patient was in a serious but stable condition on arrival.

Four occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

EMAS Ambulance Service and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance, with a section of the road closed off for several hours while the scene was cleared.
